Trent Acid's "ROAD TO REDEMPTION" continues on July 12th at "A Tangled Web"
Jul 04, 2008 posted by B.L.
It's been a long and winding road for CZW's homegrown Superstar TRENT ACID. There was a time not too long ago when Trent Acid appeared destined for worldwide superstardom. At some point a long the way, a bright career which began with groundbreaking matches that put CZW on the international wrestling map and reached astronomical levels of acclaim and accomplishment was overcome with controversy. When Trent left the Combat Zone in June of '04, a piece of the CZW legacy, and family was lost with him. For years, it looked like CZW had seen the last of Trent Acid. Then, almost exactly 4 years to the date of his last CZW appearance, Trent Acid's long and winding road came to a close with his shocking return at "Summer School" (available now on SMV DVD), where he stunned South Philly by answering the challenge of fellow CZW original Nick Gage. Some 20 breathtaking minutes later, Trent Acid had proven this comeback was for real, and with a chant of "Welcome Back", it became clear to the CZW fans, and the world that Trent Acid had finally come home. Later that night in a video which can be seen now on CZWrestling.com, CZW forefather John Zandig confronted an overwhelmed Acid in the locker room. After a quick reminder of what the letters "CZW" were all about, the two shared an emotional embrace, and Zandig welcomed Trent back to the family. With the approval of the boss, Trent appeared ready to embark on what has quicky become a road to redemption. The road back began at June 21st's "No Pun Intended" in NJ, (available now on SMV) with an unforgettable match with Drake Younger, and will continue at Saturday, July 12th's CZW return to South Philly. In what will be a very intense battle between former friends and long time rivals, Trent Acid will go one-on-one with the talented Notorious DEVON MOORE. The history between the two is long and dated, and is marked by a relationship full of ups and downs. ![]() At different times in recent years, Trent Acid has been a friend, mentor, trainer, rival, and even tag team partner to the younger Moore. The two have also been heated enemies, and partners in controversies which have crossed the lines of the wrestling world into "real-life", and left bad feelings and emotions along the way. In recent years, a relationship with bordered on brotherhood has faded to extinction. Now, Moore has forsaken his former friend at a time when he needs him the most. In an exclusive interview with CZWrestling.com, Devon told us that he no longer considers Trent Acid to be a part of his life, nor does he believe in his "Road to Redemption". "I used Trent Acid," said Moore. "For years, I was overlooked... it was always all about Trent. I befriended him, treated him like a brother, cared for him when he was at his worst... and for what? Nothing. He still got all the opportunities that I deserved. Eventually, I had enough, beat his ass all over the city and took my rightful spot among South Philly's elite. Trent's day has passed, this is my time, and this so called Road to Redemption is bullshit. On July 12th, I'm going to put a final bullet in the career of Trent Acid." While Moore is undeniably an extremely talented young competitor, he will need to bring his very best and then some if he intends to derail Trent Acid on July 12th at "A Tangled Web". Acid is motivated, focused, and hungrier than ever to prove the "Road to Redemption" is for real. On July 12th, Trent Acid prepares to take the next step towards destiny. Stay tuned to CZWrestling.com in the coming days as we continue the build towards CZW's huge July 12th return to South Philadelphia. TAG TEAM CHALLENGE signed for July 12th's "A Tangled Web"

It's no secret that CZW's Junior Heavyweight Division is one of the deepest in all of professional wrestling. With the recent emergence of fan-favorite Pinky Sanchez, Sabian's rise to prominence as BEST OF THE BEST, Sonjay Dutt's apparent return and of course the annoying dominance of Jr. Heavyweight Champion Chuck Taylor, the division may be as deep as it's ever been. On July 12th, the loaded division will be on display in a special Tag Team Challenge as CHUCK TAYLOR and SONJAY DUTT team up to face the duo of the Blk Jesus SABIAN, and the flamboyant PINKY SANCHEZ. ![]() Stay tuned to CZWrestling.com in the coming days as we continue the build towards CZW's huge July 12th return to South Philadelphia. With CZW's return to South Philly just a couple weeks away, Lobo contacted CZWrestling.com this afternoon to announce another big match for July 12th's "A Tangled Web". In a match that was supposed to take place in June, the Naptown Dragons Scotty Vortekz and Diehard Dustin Lee will defend their straps in tag action against Team Andrew - Drew Gulak and Andy Sumner. ![]() The war between CZW's hungriest young tag teams has grown more intense in recent months, even taking an Ultraviolent turn at May's Best of the Best. With 3 of the 4 combatants having participated in Tournament of Death, there's no telling what can happen when these two teams meet with the gold on the line on July 12th at the New Alhambra. 'A Tangled Web' is quickly becoming the destination for those CZW superstars with a score to settle. The July 12th return to South Philly will feature not just the conclusion to one of the bloodiest CZW rivalries in recent history(Gage and Drake), but also the conclusion to one of the most disturbing. On July 12th at the New Alhambra...the Miracle Ultraviolence Connection will meet 2 Girls 1 Cup in a LADDER MATCH, and with several bizarre stipulations on the line... ![]() If you head over to CZWrestling.com right now, you can see an exclusive video message from Cheech, Cloudy and Brodie Lee regarding July's matchup. In it, the MUC lays down the stipulations... first off... the rules are as follows: the match will be 3 on 3, and because the MUC have "generously accepted" the 2G1C challenge, they will get to pick Beef Wellington, and Greg Excellent's partner. And... in a most disgusting and potentially contagious twist... the winning team's respective "powerhouse" (Brodie/Beef) will get to be alone with the other team's bitch(Kylie/Cloudy) for 5 minutes of uninterrupted shenanigans. With the above mentioned individuals involved, the possiblities are... shameful. CZW returns to South Philadelphia on Saturday, July 12th for "A Tangled Web". CZW is planning to once again re-write the rules of Ultraviolence, and there's only one way to witness it for yourself and that's to be there. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at CZWrestling.com, or on the day of the show at the New Alhambra Box Office. Stay tuned to CZWrestling.com in the coming days for more updates regarding the most Ultraviolent party of the Summer. Brain Damage to DJ Hyde: "You're going to DIE!"
Jun 25, 2008 posted by B.L.
Those fans who attended June's "Summer School" event at the New Alhambra Arena left with a very bitter taste in their mouth. Somehow, the most hated man in CZW - DJ Hyde - weasled his way into the main event... again... and somehow... survived a brutal hardcore 4-way, picking up the scraps and pinning Insane Lane to win Brain Damage's IRON MAN Title. According to Brain Damage in an exclusive video on CZWrestling.com however, DJ Hyde's 3rd run as Iron Man Champion may already be coming to a violent end. Unlike at "Summer School", there will be no easy way out for DJ Hyde on July 12th. If he wants to remain the Iron Man Champion, he'll have to pin Brain Damage himself, a feat which very few in the Combat Zone have ever accomplished. The Ultraviolent Cyborg is pissed off, and looking for revenge, and has a right hand with DJ Hyde's name all over it which he's ready to unleash at "A Tangled Web". Who will survive in a battle of two of CZW's most dominant forces? We'll find out in July. Stay tuned to CZWrestling.com in the coming days as we bring you more exclusive videos, and unveil more matches for CZW's huge July 12th return to South Philly at the New Alhambra Arena. NICK GAGE vs. DRAKE YOUNGER to headline July 12th's CZW return to South Philly!
Jun 24, 2008 posted by B.L.
The war between CZW World Heavyweight Champion Nick Gage and UVU Champion Drake Younger has raged for months. The feud which was once fueled by respect has turned brutally Ultraviolent, with the two shedding blood from South Philly, to Delaware... and back. CZWrestling.com has learned that the rivalry will take another greusome turn when the two meet at CZW's July 12th return to the New Alhambra Arena for a show curiously titled - "A Tangled Web", and the CZW World Heavyweight Championship WILL be on the line. ![]() Everyone knows the history between Gage and Younger by now. Gage is a true CZW original, and an Ultraviolent Icon. His fearless style and relentless agression put CZW on the map in 1999, and now, nearly a decade later, Gage seems to be enjoying the best year of his career. The CZW World Champion has been on a roll since his return at Cage of Death IX, displaying the same passion and hunger that he first showed some 9 years ago when he and a few others made the letters "C-Z-W" a worldwide phenomenon. Gage was long considered the undisputed "Future of Hardcore", until a young kid from the RAAGE Dojo debuted in the Summer of 2006. Showing the same fearless aggression and desire that Gage displayed in the early stages of his career, Drake Younger burst on to the scene at Tournament of Death 5. While he came up short that day, his never say die attitude and unbridled courage made him an instant favorite of the CZW faithful. Since then, Drake's star has continued to rise, along with his popularity and growing list of accomplishments which includes a Tournament of Death trophy, and multiple reigns as UVU Champion. The two crossed pathes briefly in the Fall of '06, meeting in an intense No Robe Barbed Wire match won by Drake Younger at "Fear" (available now on SMV). Following that contest, the rivals went their separate ways... until a No Rope Barbed Wire return match at April 08's "Winner Takes All" (available now on SMV), which once again raised the bar of Ultraviolence and evened the score for Gage. The pair battled twice more at May's Tournament of Death 7, tagging once, and facing each other again as part of the 4-way finals. The results however were indecisive as the the Tournament ended with Danny Havoc pinning Scotty Vortekz in the ring while Drake and Gage were battling on the outside. In June, the duo tagged again at CZW's Summer School, taking on Notorious Inc's Devon Moore and Drew Blood. Unlike their match at TOD however, Gage and Drake had trouble communicating througout the contest, and the dissention led to a dissapointing loss, and the apparent disintegration of the one time friendship between the two. Now, with tempers at an all time, and a feeling of hostility raging beyond control, the pair will meet again at CZW's "A Tangled Web". As of press time, the stipulation for this explosive contest has not been revealed to CZWrestling.com, but judging by the title of the show, it surely will not be for the faint of heart.
